Welcome to the Bishops Walk Residents’ Association.
The association has been set up to represent the interests of the residents and owners of all the flats and houses that directly adjoin the Bishops Walk roadway off Rochester High Street, in the county of Kent, United Kingdon.
The group was set up in 2016 in order to address the out-of-control parking situation that had developed on the roadway, but now also seeks to keep the area clean and tidy by ensuring rubbish is cleared away quickly and litter is picked up swiftly and efficiently. Effective lighting of the street is also monitored, as it appears that one street lamp had become defective and not fixed for over a decade. This has now been mended and now the area is safely lit in the evenings once again.
In addition, the association identified that a covenant regarding road naming had not been complied with, and has lobbied to get the lack of street name plates at the High Street end of the road addressed. [The lack of road signage has meant that delivery drivers and visitors have difficulty in finding addresses on Bishops Walk itself and on The Chimes (which is accessed via the end of Bishops Walk).
Finally, over the long term the group hopes to be able to encourage residents to partcipate in gardening schemes such as that advocated by Full Frontal, which seek to beautify the fronts of houses in urban environments by encouraging planting.
